What Squishy Butter is

Squishy-butter.com is the official home of Squishlab: Butter Squishy, a free game where you squish a slow rising stick of butter. Press the butter and it dents under your finger on a real deforming 3D mesh, makes a soft squish sound and slowly rises back. Every squish earns coins, coins buy wrapper skins, and there are 100 skins to collect, from classic salted butter to gold, marble swirls and 32 country flags.

The game runs in the browser on this page with no download and no account, and as a free Android app on Google Play. There are no purchases with real money; every skin is earned by playing or by choosing to watch a short ad.

Who makes it

ZazGames is an independent game studio and publisher. We run ZazGames.com, a site of free instant browser games, and we publish our own mobile games on Google Play under the ZazGames name, including Squishlab: Butter Squishy and Merge Beast Arena. We are a small team, and the person answering [email protected] is one of the people who built the game.

Squishy Butter is our first game to get its own website. We built the site because players kept asking for things the game itself cannot give them: a list of every skin with its price, a printable version of the wrappers, wallpapers, and honest advice on which real squishy to buy.

Why we made a butter squishy game

The butter squishy toy went viral because the slow rise is hypnotic. We wanted a version that never tears, never goes grey and fits in a browser tab, so we built the squish on a physically deforming mesh rather than a flat animation. The wrapper says SQUISHLAB, BUTTER and 4 OZ, our own design, so it never imitates a real dairy brand.

The butter model is based on Wax Butter squishy by AcidicCrate7514, used under the CC BY 4.0 licence, and the coin on Coin by chor64 under the same licence. Thank you both.

The game and the site are free and stay free. They are paid for by ads shown in the game and on the site, and by affiliate links in the blog: when you buy a squishy through an Amazon link here, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
