Our second butter game is a platform obstacle course: moving platforms, slippery butter ramps and checkpoints. Here is how it plays, how to control it on desktop and phone, and the tips that save runs.
What Butter Squishy Tower is
Butter Squishy Tower is a ZazGames original, an obby style platform game: you guide a character across stages built from butter squishies, with moving platforms, slippery surfaces and jumps that need exact timing. Every level ends at a green checkpoint, and reaching a checkpoint saves your progress, so a hard section can be retried on its own instead of from the start. It runs in the browser with no download and works on phones with touch controls.
It is the sibling of the butter squishy game on this site. One is a toy you squish, the other is a course you run across. Both are free and both are ours. The Tower game plays on ZazGames.com and has its own page here with the controls and tips.
Controls
- Move: arrow keys or WASD.
- Jump: space bar.
- Sprint or slide: hold Shift.
- Restart from checkpoint: R.
- Phone: the left side of the screen moves, the right side jumps.
How the levels work
The first stages teach the basics: short jumps, a moving platform, a slippery ramp. Later stages chain several hazards into multi-stage runs that reward memorising the layout and reacting fast. Some pieces react to you, so a platform may drop or bounce the moment you land. The graphics are bright and high contrast on purpose, which keeps the edges of every platform readable on a small phone screen.
Seven tips that save runs
- Jump late on moving platforms. Leave from the front edge as the platform reaches the end of its travel; you get its momentum for free.
- Slide on slippery surfaces instead of walking. Holding Shift keeps you low and predictable on the buttery ramps.
- Tap, do not hold. Short taps on the jump key give you control over small gaps; save full jumps for the wide ones.
- Watch one hazard cycle before you go. Every moving piece has a rhythm; watching it once costs a second and saves ten retries.
- Use R early. If a run is going badly, restart from the checkpoint instead of fighting it back.
- Play landscape on a phone. The course is wide, and landscape shows you the next platform before you need it.
- Take a squish break. After a hard stage, thirty seconds on the slow rising butter resets your hands. This is not science, but it works for us.
Why an obby about butter?
The butter squishy became a meme because of the slow rise and the wrapper, and our squish game gave it 100 wrappers to collect. Players asked for something with a goal, so we built a course out of the same butter: bouncy blocks, slippery tops, and towers to climb. The wrappers you know from the skins page show up as platforms, which is why the game looks like a shop shelf that decided to become a level.

The Tower game plays on ZazGames.com and has its own page on this site. The squish game is on the home page. Both need nothing but a browser.
